WHO DO YOU THINK WILL BE A BETTER PRESIDENT?

Like many others who have been complaining about all the advertisements going on trying to help you choose which nominee you will vote for for president, I admit, at times I am one of those. I prefer researching these people myself.


From the get-go, I have liked the ideas of Barack Obama. He is a Christian, despite what "others" say. He loves his family, was raised in Hawaii, went to a great upstanding college, and has a lot of views aligned with my own. I think it's absurd that just because he knows how to handle himself, people label him as "self-centered". What is that? He is very smart and wants CHANGE. Isn't that what we need in this country? Barack Obama did not choose his running mate to "swing" people to vote. He chose someone who will help him with "change".

Joseph Biden has a great history in Foreign Affairs and also judiciary matters. He is 5th from the bottom of those in the Senate, poorest. He is for the "little guy" and has had many disasters in his life which makes him appreciate life and how we are able to live it. He knows the law, because he is a lawyer. He also was one of those who didn't want the Viet Nam war to go on, because of the loss of lives. He actually stuttered when a young teenager and taught himself out of it by looking in the mirror and practicing speaking. He's not perfect, but who is?

I realize that many citizens in Utah are Republicans. These republicans believe that the Republican party is the only party that has moral, religious and ethical standards. I fail to see these standards in the Republican Party when, just last year so many Republican political leaders "fell down" in their standards (handling of Katrina was major), were imprisoned for their standards and for the past 8 years have left us in debt so intriguing that no one pays attention to these issues and they still consider "Republican" the best choice.

Is it that all those who are Democratic don't have ethical, religious and moral standards? Well, I'm offended!!!!! I'm not saying I am a DEMOCRAT. I move back and forth, Democrat to Republican after checking out the candidates.

Already Sarah Palin has stated untruths in her speeches to the many people of her party at the convention. Why is it that John McCain stated in the beginning of his campaign that it should be all about what our country needs, yet started the flinging of crap at the Democratic party and doesn't talk about our Country's needs? If you conciously research the background of both candidates, they both understand many issues, but lack in others. Personally, I'm sick of republicans in this state, because they don't have their own minds. They follow suit with the neighbor. Maybe my living in other states has brought me to this, but I appreciate that I can choose, and don't have to be with the mainstream of this state or any other state.

I have so much respect for those who delve deeply into the issues and candidates and who make up their minds from that research; not from those who believe everything they hear on TV and read in the newspaper. Research is a lot more than that. I also respect those who do make their choices based on something other than what they hear in conversation of others. I RESPECT THEIR CHOICE EVEN IF IT ISN'T MY OWN; As long as they research themselves and not go with what their neighbors think.....STAND UP AND THINK FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!

SO, RESPECTFULLY, THAT IS MY OWN OPINION.....AND THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT!
