Today is my first granddaughter's birthday. As I reminisce about that day, I remember having a business conference trip scheduled the Monday she was born. I had to fly to California and when I left on Sunday afternoon, and Sarah was already having labor pains when I left. I was so heartbroken that I couldn't be there for her birth. I got to my hotel room and didn't hear anything, until Monday morning, as I was getting ready to go to my meeting. Joe called around 6:30, I believe and told me she was born. I was so anxious for the next couple of days, and couldn't wait until my business meetings were over. I flew home on Wednesday and went straight to their home on the way home from the airport. It was so exciting to see her beautiful face. It took me back to when Christopher was born, just looking at the faces of Joe and Sarah. This sweet thing, born February 2, 2004, had only been 2 days away from our Father in Heaven. She was amazing and beautiful. She in her own way, has been such an example to me when she speaks of Jesus and some of the statements she makes about heaven and other "spiritual" things makes me feel she was sent her to get my life in order. I have learned so much from her and we are so very close. Phoenix, I hope you have a very happy birthday and always remember how much Papa and I love you. We love the sweet spirit you bring to our home and listen to every single feeling you express. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
