DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SEASON IT IS.....IT'S ALL ABOUT FAMILY.......
Tuesday, February 17, 2009
We had a great day for Kay's birthday. His kids, grandkids, Joe and his family, Cyndee and Gary and Marilyn came over to celebrate. We had Lasagna, Garlic Bread and Salad, topped off with Chocolate birthday cake and ice cream. It was a fun day.
I think Todd was half asleep from the energy he had to deplet from the crazy day before on their bike ride.
Teri
We all got to laughing at some of the "strange" things "Grandpa" did when he was a younger man......
Kenzie
Kenzie had fun listening to Grandpa's funny "old" stories
How Funny is This?????
Kyley was still sleeping when we got around to taking the family picture.....
Kyley sleeping in the chair
Kyley worked the night before and was so tired we took the family photo even though she was still sleeping.....
Cody, the "hottie"
Kay, Todd and Cody went on a bikeride together on Saturday and got drenched by the rain. It's one Father's Day "experience" they will NEVER forget!
Kay and Me
What a Great Dad and Grandpa
SISTER, CYNDEE AND ME
Father's Day was great, and especially nice, because Cyndee and Mike came over to enjoy the day!

Kay's 29th birthday, one more time....
It was a fun day having everyone around. Cyndee, Joe, Sarah, the girls, Todd and his three kids, Teri and Eric and Cole (Chelsea was working, but stopped by later) and Gary, Kay's brother, and his wife Marilyn. We only realized that you think your house is big enough, until you have company over, and then you realize it's way too small. We had fun though and helped Kay to celebrate his 69th birthday. Thanks for coming everyone!
Cyndee was there....
Cole and his cousin, Alex, were there...

We're both still CRAZY!

We actually love spending New Year's together, still!
Christmas Phoenix
What a great job Phoenix did at her program....Enjoyed it totally....
LaRae and Bill
LaRae and Bill are so fun to get together with. Bill is usually very timid and quiet, but get him on a subject or ask him to tell a story and he's not timid anymore. I totally adore these people. LaRae is a second MOM to me.
Aunt Hannah
We celebrated the fact that we still have Aunt Hannah, who was married to my Uncle Charlie, my Mom's brother. She is getting around pretty well and doesn't look like she's almost 80 years old. She's a great mom to her kids and has some great kids!
Cyndee
I got to sit next to Cyndee, who just got new glasses. She looks so smart in them and I always have a great time joking with her and she picks up on all the stupid things that come out of my mouth. You know I don't think before I speak, and she catches them all.
Becky and Brent
Kay sat next to Becky and Brent, Hannah's son, and they are always so sweet and friendly. They never look like they age, to me.
Lorraine and Fred
Fred is Uncle Milt's oldest son. I love visiting with them, because Herm and I used to go and visit them often, when we were first married. I have helped a couple of his kids in the past, and am excited that his son who has been in Iraq for 4 years, is finally coming home in January. These two people are very special to me.

Phoenix was taking the pictures and got this cute one of Sarah and Shana. It is a little blurry, but I figured out that she changed the setting on the camera, so it wasn't as clear as the other pictures......She's quite the photographer!
SARAH BAKER.....LOL
It all worked out so well time wise, because Shana had to pick up Daxton from the school bus, and Sarah had to take Phoenix to school. We got done around 11:30 and everyone left to go do their normal daily routine! What a fun time I had!
Joe after his procedure......
Not feeling too good, but had a good report.....I'm so happy!
Our Prophet
I was so grateful to the have the opportunity to hear our President talk to us today. He helped me to further realize what is most important in my life and that I should choose to pay attention to what is missing in my life. He told us to appreciate our blessings, despite our challenges and to always thank our Father in Heaven, for all the happiness and blessings we have, but it is he who is responsible for giving us. I will try very hard to live my life with gratitude to my Father In Heaven for all he has given to me, even during all challenges I have had in my life. I so love this Prophet!
WHAT TALENT THIS MAN HAS!
Bill is in deep thought at this time, while we were visiting. You have to wonder what he was thinking....Probably, what new project can I do next??????
LaRae and Me
After Bill cooked delicious hamburgers on the open pit, we sat and ate them and LaRae made "perked" coffee. It reminded me of Grandma and I had a moment, remembering when she would percolate the coffee at her house. What a special time remembering, reminiscing and reminding me how wonderful my family is and sharing such beautiful moments with those people who dearly mean so much to me.
Bird
During our whole stay, these beautiful. quick, little birds came to eat sunflowers Bill puts out for them. You can hold sunflowers in your hands and they will come right into your hand and eat them and then fly away. Then they return again. Bill is in such tune with nature, he didn't even want to disturb anything on the property, moving it or anything. He loves all the animals and fowl that visit his property and is so respectful of them.
Gertrude
This is "Gertrude", my name for this chipmunk, who came to visit several times, filled his jowls with sunflower seeds and ran off to bury them for winter. There were many chipmunks, but this one kept coming back many, many times for more.
The "Patio"
Bill is so creative and handy. He can literally do anything. He built this patio on the side of their trailer, where you can step right up into the trailer. We sat and visited her for a long time and ate lunch here. It is remarkable!
This is the "crafty guy"
This picture is shadowy, but you can see this hard working man, who has so many projects going on, including the fact that he still works at his business. He's turned his cement contracting business over to his son, Michael, but still works there. He's 61 years old and not retired yet.
Aunt LaRae Supervising the Work
LaRae doesn't like Bill's projects, cause he does it in their back yard in an enclosed area. She always apologizes for the "mess" in the yard, but after it's all finished, she is so proud of the work he does.
Cyndee Becka and Me
We were earlier than others, so we were able to get a few pics in before the others came. Becka's shirt says FITCH not BITCH. She was worried everyone would think it said that, so I'm making it clear.....duh.
Larry Fry
This is Uncle Charlie's son, Larry, who is the third oldest of his family. He's such a hoot to be around and is always missed at our reunions if he doesn't come.
Joe and Sarah
I finally got a great picture of Joe and Sarah. Sarah had to leave early because she had to work, but at least she got to be there a little while. She is crocheting an afgan but still hadn't finished it. Valerie bought it anyways, and when It's done, I'll take it to her.
Valerie
This is my cousin Valerie, LaRae's daughter. She is one of the sweetest people I know and would do anything for anyone, anytime. She is the one who lost her son, Jason, to cancer a few years ago. He was only 31.
AVE
Amazingly, she keeps this hat on....

AUNT MELDA
It was such a joy to go and visit Aunt Melda at her Rest Home. She was so excited to see us, she jumped up to her walker and told us she wanted to walk with us. She took us down to the "therapy room" where she proceded to get on a machine and work the pedals and arms. She is 98 years old and doing fantastic. She's feisty and doesn't like her roommate. We are considering taking Elva down to Melda's place to live and they can share a room. Elva isn't doing so well and we feel her quality of life will be much better with her sister to visit with. Again, it's all about Sisters, keeping in touch, and how good they can make you feel when you are really down. Love It!!!!
Sunrise in Kathryn's back yard
Yep, how would you like this in your back yard? LOVE IT!
Our Anniversary Dinner....
Strange as it may seem, we got down to Kathryn's and had what we thought was OUR anniversary dinner, only to find out that they were married on the very same day, only 49 years ago. They were so excited to spend all of our anniversaries together that they didn't tell us until we got down there!
Flo
This is my new friend Flo. She was up at Bryce Canyon and responded to me every single time I talked to her. I got several pictures of her, and they all looked like she was posing for me.
Butch Cassidy's House
This was Butch's house he stayed in while he was rousting around Utah. His house is on the way to Bryce Canyon, so I threw this picture in too!
Beauty at it's finest....
OUR 'CABIN'
Kathryn works at the "Pines" Hotel and Cabins and reserved us a darling little cabin for our stay at Bryce. It was just like a small house and we had a porch to watch the sunrise and even made some wildlife friends right outside our front door. We had bunny rabbits, Antelope, Deer, horses and later on, when it got really dark, even had a bat or two fly by us. It was awesome and very, very romantic.
Bear Hug
Kay's hugging the bear at Ruby's Inn up in Bryce Canyon. He said he had to hug someone, and I was taking the picture!
Our "Romantic" 4-wheelin' rendevous
We went 4-wheelin' with Kathryn and Doyle, Kay's sister and her husband all day Saturday. We went down into Casto canyon which neighbor's Bryce Canyon. The trails were beautiful and looking up to the red cliffs was as beautiful as looking downward inside Bryce Canyon. Everyone should see this wonder of the world in it's complete godliness. It's really a spiritual experience to be there and see how special God made this area look. All I can say is "AWESOME"!!!
For as long as we both shall live......
They Promised!
Both David and Gene, a previous co-worker and my boss, both promised, whenever I got married, they would dance on the tables! The tables wouldn't hold them, so we danced on the patio at my wedding in 1989!
MUG SHOT
We plan on having a lot of fun on this trip. Hope we don't get in trouble and end up having to have another mug shot at the police station!
Trip to Redwoods for our Anniversary
It was two years ago at this time we went to the Redwoods. I love this photo and many say if you look at it hard you will see a picture of a man in the halo.....BIGFOOT?
My sweet hubbie, Kay
Kay had such a great time with everyone! We were able to visit with all of Geri's kids, who we hadn't seen in quite some time. Birthdays should come more often so we can get together like this all the time!
Sarah "Lana Turner" Tuiaana
Sarah posed for me like one of her favorite actresses. I think she looks even more beautiful than the actress!!!! The kids were swinging and enjoying the evening, which was so nice, weather wise too!
Geri and Cyndee (with Kevin in the rear)
It was so special to get together last night. It is all about family and enjoying eachother. Also, getting to see how they are doing and just spending the time together was so, so great.
David's daughter and Tava
David is a grandpa twice over and Sam was there with her two children and husband.
Ave swinging
This little girl kicks her legs with excitement, every time I try and get her in the swing. Finally when we do, she could swing for such a long time and she wouldn't mind how long. She loves going to the park and we do it everytime the girls and Cole come over.
Cole Kissing Ave
Whenever we have the girls over Cole always wants to come too. They all play together so well and it really helps us when he keeps Phoenix occupied. This picture was so cute, because I caught him kissing Ave on the forehead....how sweet!
COLE WITH HIS WHITTLED BOW
Papa and Cole whittled while the girls were sleeping and he made this Bow and even whittled an arrow for it. Then they went to get "coffee" and even then the girls hadn't woke up yet. He was anxious to play with the girls again....
PHOENIX LOVES THE SLIDE!
COLE SHOWING HIS ABILITIES
COLE NEEDS A BABY SISTER!
Cole was so helpful and played with the girls, swinging them on the swing and being very careful with both of them.
NATURAL FISH
The kids all played together so well!
Our Day
We had Kay's kids and grandkids and Joe and his family over for Father's Day and my birthday. We both were treated well and enjoyed visiting with everyone.
Blowing out the candles.....
With a little bit of help, Phoenix helped me blow out my birthday candles. I was sure glad they didn't put all 21 candles on the cake or we would have never been able to blow them all out!
My Sis
It's always fun to have any of my siblings around especially on my birthday. There was a lot of laughs and I enjoy her company so much. We walk together each day for three miles over at the Orem Community Hospital.
Chelsea
Chelsea and I are "Tigerette Sisters" now that she is at Orem High. She is involved in so many projects and spent the day looking through my senior yearbook. We laughed at the clothes and hairdo's, but stayed "respectful".
We ate and visited, laughed and ate and visited and laughed some more
WHAT DID YOU SAY????
Cody and Todd were into a conversation that made Todd cover his mouth at what was said.
LAUGHING ALL DAY LONG
Kyley and Teri were in the kitchen talking about something funny, doing preparations for our barbecue
AVE
Ave looked especially cute in her cute little hat. She ran around and did Pattacake and made us laugh through the day. She does "roll em, roll em" really well.
3 1968 Teens All Grown Up
Hard to believe we were Tigerettes marching around the Orem High Gymnasium back in 1968. Now, they've knocked down the school and are rebuilding it. Sad day....

Downtown Chicago
Christopher took us downtown to Navy Pier. We rode on a "tour boat" all around Lake Michigan and saw the sights of the skyline of the city. It was a perfect day and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Starting a fire
After our Chicago pizza experience, we went over to Mo's house, Lesli's best friend and sat in her back yard. We were there for a couple of hours, but failed to get a fire started. We each tried, but decided the wood was wet that she purchased on the way home. It was so fun to talk and relax after that big meal.
Chicago Style Pizza
Geri wanted to try the "real" Chicago style pizza, so Chris and Jurgita took us to get that. We were all impressed with how good it was, even the "Chicagoans".
Lesli and Joanne
These beautiful women danced, even in the dark, while Chris and Adam sang and played the guitar and drums.
Auntie Lesli was proud too!
Proud daddy of his graduate
We made candy leis and flower leis for him to wear after his ceremony. He was so excited!
Jakob receiving his diploma
It was such a cute ceremony and lasted about 45 minutes. Afterwards they had a "brunch" in the school cafeteria. He did so well and was so handsome. We were all very proud of him.
Are you a good sister?
Take the sister quiz: 1. Your sister needs her hair done for an event and you are a fantastic stylist. But, instead of asking you to do it, she asks her best friend. How do you feel? a. Pissed! She knows I love to do hair....how rude! b. Fine. Her friend does a great job on hair. Can't wait to see how it turns out! c. A little bummed, but it's ok. I'm sure she just wanted to share the fun with her friend.
2. You've had a long, busy day when your sister calls wanting to go to dinner because she needs to talk. What do you do? a. Ignore her call, I don't need any extra stress.... b. Answer the call and figure out how bad the situation is before deciding. c. Answer the call and tell her I can be there in less than 15 minutes. I am there for her no matter what.
3. You found a guy that would be perfect for your sister, but she hates being set up. Do you do it anyway? a. Yes, but I'd try to set it up like a chance meeting so that she feels more comfortable. Hey, if it's for my sister's well being, I'll do it. b. Nope, but I might ask him out. c. It depends on her recent track record.
4. After a date, you call your sister to tell her how it went, but she rushes you off the phone. How does that make you feel? a. A little guilty. I must have been intruding. Oops. b. How dare she do that? She only calls on her own terms, to talk about herself. c. A little hurt, but I'll get over it. She was probably busy.
5. Your sister calls you extremely late at night. She's drunk and needs a ride home. What do you do? a. Groan, sigh and finally say, OK. b. Find out where she is, tell her to stay put and rush over there. c. Tell her to figure it out for herself. I need my sleep.
6. Even though she has a boyfriend, your sister starts flirting with your best guy friend. Do you tell him that she has a boyfriend before anything happens? a. Not only that, I'd tell her boyfriend what she was trying to do. Floozy... b. I would talk to her about the line she is crossing first, if she doesn't listen, I'd have to tell my friend. I know he wouldn't want to be in that kind of situation. c. Yes, He's a nice guy and that's just not fair to him or her boyfriend.
7. She has found Mr. Right and is betting married. But, she doesn't ask you to be in the wedding. How does that make you feel? a. Sad, but I'll do anything for my sister. Besides, it's her wedding. It should be exactly how she wants it. b. Oh heck, no! She knows that is so not cool. She's going to hear it from me for sure. c. Hurt, I thought we were close. Forget her!
8. Your less-responsible sister was not asked to watch your parents' house while they were out of town. She finds out they asked you. How do you explain that to her? a. Just give her the brutal truth. They don't trust her. b. Lie and tell her that they didn't ask me, so I don't know why she's so upset. c. Break it to her gently, but tell her that I told Mom and Dad that she is more responsible than they think.
9. After a rough breakup, you notice that your sister is rebounding a bit too much. What do you say to her? a. I'd warn her of the consequences her actions can bring. b. Tell her she's being a hooch and unless she wants an STD or a baby, she needs to stop. c. Explain that while I understand her situation, she should take a look at what she's doing. It's really not her and she doesn't want anything bad to come of it. I'd make sure to tell her I'm just saying it because I love her.
10. If your sister got into trouble with the law, would you help her out or rat her out? a. Our parents think she's perfect, so I'd totally rat her out. Maybe they'll be easier on me if they realize she isn't so perfect after all. b. I wouldn't tell our parents, but I'd talk to her about why she did what she did. To me, getting her to understand what she did wrong is helping her out. c. That's interesting.....she has ratted me out a few times. I just might......

Looks just like Dad...
Of the three boys, Christian looks just like Adam did when he was born. The minute I saw him I said..."Wow, this is just like De ja Vu" when I had Adam, Christian has his Dad's "puppy dog eyes" and his great smile.
Pixie Ears
Adam turned some pieces of plastic that Lesli had made into glasses for the boys into pixie ears....he wore them the whole evening of Christian's birthday. He asked me if I wanted to wear some, so I did and we got our picture taken together. He makes it fun for his boys even if it makes him look like a weirdo......
One thing I love about Adam.....
Christian, Adam's middle son, loves "Nacho Libre" the movie, and Adam cut the sleeves out of one of his shirts in order to make a mask like Nacho Libre for Christian. He is constantly wearing the mask and runs around with it all the time. Adam is such a good Dad and wants to make his son's happy....

"REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE"......Ma Sheppard, (again.....I think I forgot in the picture below)
Nacho Libre!
The big thing around the Adam Tuiaana house is the movie Nacho Libre. Even Spencer hears the music on the movie and wants to sit and watch the movie. I was playing with the kids and thought they'd get a kick out of me putting on the mask, so I did. What a fool I make of myself around those kids.....
Adam and Ma, goofing off
Lesli made some eyeglasses out of styrofoam somethings or other and the kids weren't playing with them, so Adam changed them to elf ears. He wore them the whole night, so I got a pair and put them on me and we posed for this picture. DUH!
Jakee and Lesli at Christian's party
We totally had fun laughing and of course everyone was getting sick of me taking pictures of them. I starting hiding so they wouldn't know I was taking them. Some are posed like this one, however.

THE REASON A DOG HAS SO MANY FRIENDS IS BECAUSE HE WAGS HIS TAIL INSTEAD OF HIS TONGUE.....
My drawing of Gabrielle
As soon as I got this picture of Gabrielle on the "Tuiaana's" Christmas card, I wanted to draw her. She is the only one of my grandkids I have been able to even come close to when I draw. She is my little hula girl and I miss her so much.
Happy Birthday Dad!
HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY, ELLIOTT!
Yes, today is Elliott's 12th birthday. He's been such a good dog. He is spoiled, I would say, much more by Kay than by me. When Lisa first called me to tell me her dog had a litter of puppies and asked if I wanted one, I said Yes. When Kay found out, he was not a happy camper. Now, everything points to Elliott as "Kay's Dog". He couldn't do without Elliott and Elliott couldn't do without Kay...and so goes the story.

NEWS FLASH!!! ELLIOTT LOST IN SNOW!
ELLIOTT EVEN LOVES THE SNOW
Elliott runs around and jumps in the snow every time Kay goes out to shovel. When his paws get cold, he runs to the back door steps and jumps against the screen door to come in!
and more snow.....
SO MUCH SNOW!
We don't believe it's snowed this much in the past 15 years. Kay's been shoveling all morning....
I think Sarah had fun too!
Joe and Ave at the party
Ave loved the cherry cake that Sarah made. It was the best cake I've ever tasted

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHOENIX
Then she's back to teasing Grandma
She teases Grandma so much, then calls me "silly goose"
Wonder if she still takes naps.....
I was wondering if she was getting tired from all the activities we did. But, one minute after this picture was taken, she was raring to go again doing something else.
Phoenix with Grandma Day
I never tire of the funniest things that come out of her mouth. She has set me straight on a few things, a couple of times, and I can't help but laugh at her 4 year old humor. She really thinks it's funny when we laugh and then gets all embarassed.

Grandma & Phoenix
During the summer of 2007, Phoenix would come over often and swim in the pool and play games with Papa and Grandma. We enjoy having her over and she completely takes us aback with the humorous things she says.

My mom, 1972
My mom was always so happy when we would come down and bring the kids. She held them and played with them the whole time we would be down to visit. We came down almost every week.
My Hula Mom
Mom loved Hawaii as much as we all did. She took all of us and our spouses there in 1979. I was pregnant with Joseph, but it didn't matter. We had such a wonderful time touring all the islands.

MY DAD
Seems lately I've been thinking a lot about my mom and dad. I only wish I could hug and kiss them one more time. They both seemed to make you feel more confident in yourself, less stressful in times that were hard and gave you such a sense of security. I could use their advice now, even though I'm 57 years old. Your mom and dad are so helpful and I appreciated what they did for me while they lived.

My sweetie
I am so happy I met Kay, thanks to my sister and brother-in-law, Dan. When we met, I knew he was the man I wanted and he would take care of me like a good husband should. He's such a hard worker and respectful to everyone he meets. This matters so much to me. He loves me unconditionally and I needed someone like that.

We were down for a visit from SLC and Christine was holding Adam who wasn't quite a year old. This would have been in 1974
Our Beautiful Mom
Mom had cancer. This was during a hard period of time for her and it shows in her face. You could always tell when she was in pain. She always still looked beautiful to me.
Dad's First Car ????? 1959
Taking a ride on the neighbor's go-kart when we first moved to Edgemont. He sure did look silly! I loved this picture so much, I put it in twice!

OUR DAY OUT...
Seems we don't get out much, but today we did for Becka's birthday. We went to Chen's Noodle Restaurant by the Mall. Ate good food and then walked around the mall looking at all kinds of things none of us could afford. It was an afternoon well spent and quality time with eachother

They told me if I got married, they would dance on the tables! The tables wouldn't hold them so they danced on the patio at our wedding. It was such a fun wedding, one I don't ever want to forget.
I am married to a great man, Kay; he's 68. I'm 58 years old and my mind tells me I'm 26, until I try and do physical things a 26 year old can do. Nonetheless, I enjoy doing projects with my hubby, riding our motorcycle, traveling, and spending time with my granddaughters here in Utah. I've looked forward to my retirement for a long time. I don't miss my job at all, but I do miss the people. Sick part is, I still get up every morning at 4:30 or 5:00......habits never quit. I'm lovin' my life though...My wish for all of you that you could retire early, like I did to spend time with your spouse and family members.
Yes, 2 years after getting married we made a bike trip down to Bryce and carved our initials in this tree. Each time we visit Bryce, we go to that very tree and see our initials still there...Love it!
Ride 'em Cowboy!
We are hoping the weather is good so we can ride our bike down to Bryce Canyon. We've done it so many times before and is such a beautiful ride....Fingers crossed!
Spencer with Grandma Sheppard
We were awaiting the kids and adults coming to the birthday party for Spencer. Altogether, I believe there were 80+ people there. It was a perfect day for his luau birthday celebration. He is such a sweet child, sitting on your lap forever and not making any fuss. (At least not for some time) What a sweet disposition he has and how calm he is compared to Christian! Love his sweet spirit!
Windy Day on Sunday
Christopher, Jurgita, Gabrielle, Lesli, Cyndee and I were all treated by Christopher at Papadoux's Breakfast Brunch. They had the most outstanding pancakes I've ever tasted. You could have anything your heart desires at this joint.....Thanks to Chris for treating.....
Swimming at Chris' pool
We spent about three hours at Christopher's pool at his condo. Joanne, Jakob, Christian, Lesli, Cyndee and I all had our turns in the pool. It was fun seeing Jakob and Christian swimming and I even got goofy and put Jakobs swim goggles on for this picture.
Traveling around with Lesli
What fun it was riding with Lesli to our destinations. One time, It took us 3 hours to get home because we got lost. We went to a purse outlet that was "on the way home", but suddenly found we were lost! It was so much fun though.
Talent overflowing
Lesli and Adam played and sang for quite some time on Wednesday evening in Adam's back yard. Even though he had just gotten off the airplane from a trip to Alabama and had worked all day. Amazing how much they love music and will sit and sing away no matter how tired they are.
Lesli playing the Uke with Adam
These two really know how to make music together.....
Spencer in his own world.....
Cyndee out there struttin' her stuff
What a blast we had!
Singing Blue Bayou
Blue Bayou is my favorite song that Lesli sings. She is more amazing at her singing talent everytime I go back to Paps....
Jakob plays the drum now....
The boys are really getting into the entertaining part of the culture. Jakob played in the show with Chris, Lesli, Adam, and Joanne and it was so awesome. He loves doing it and does it with a smile on his face everytime!
The first show on Friday
Lynn, Lucia and Lesli did a show at a Country Club on Friday afternoon. It was 97 degrees and they all got blisters on their feet from the hot flooring. What a great show.
Our first morning
Breakfast time with Lesli; Nummy Num!
Lesli relaxing at the party
What a great dad
Adam is always giving me those looks when I want to take his picture. He's such a great dad! We had so much fun at the party. They had appetizers of coconut shrimp, ribs and teriaki chicken strips. The main course was Teriaki Chicken, Coconut Rice, Scewered beef and veggies. For dessert there was the huge cake which was chocolate with banana filling! What a treat. Joanne, as usual, organized everything and it turned out so perfectly! Adults were greeted with shell leis and the children had paper flower leis!
Ready to blow out the candles
Spencer had no idea what was going on. The cake was huge, with surfers on it. They even had a blow up fun center for the kids to jump on and climb up and slide down. They also had a "sandal" pinata for the kids to break with a stick.
FUTURE NASCAR MECHANIC????
She CHECKED every tire to make sure there was plenty of tread!
Checking Underneath the car is important!
She was very thorough
She's Quite the Mechanic
Ave came to visit and seemed to be concerned about my car. She checked it all the way around and made her inspection of it exactly like a mechanic would. Guess it's ready to roll!
Having Fun In The Pool!
Olympic Swimmer
She's so happy, she's dazed!
KATHRYN
I must add that when Kathryn and Kay and I were visiting on the patio later Saturday evening, she was telling a story about 98 year old Aunt Melda and during her story telling, got so animated that she fell backwards on her chair to the ground. She scraped her arm and cut her finger, but was fine. We laughed so hard altogether because of how excited she gets when she tells her experiences.....SO, SO FUNNY!
Kathryn
I truly love Kathryn. She and I think so much alike. We were like teenagers in the stores buying stuff, and even hit a couple of garage sales, which afforded us some real deals.....She is quite the story teller and because she works at a hotel, has some great ones to tell about the people who visit Bryce Canyon.
GARY AND MARILYN
We we glad Gary and Marilyn could come to eat dinner with us. We don't get together too often, but it was fun telling stories of when they were all in high school, remembering the jokes they played on teachers and reminiscing about dates they had and other things. We hope to get together more often and make a habit of it.
4th of July Celebration
We had one, but don't have any pics yet; The day was relaxing and we enjoyed eachother's company, but always thinking of the young men in the service who are in foreign countries or here at home, making it possible for us to safely celebrate this holiday.
Sisters
Geri and I left Cyndee behind when we went to Chicago in June, so now Geri will be left behind while Cyndee and I go out and have fun. I'm so lucky, because I'm the one who gets to go every time! We always have so much fun with my kids and they really know how to make a person feel welcome.
